VSD (Variable Speed Drive) means the compressor speed is controlled steplessly to match actual air demand. A fixed-speed compressor runs flat out or idles — and idling typically costs 25–35 % of full power without delivering air. The DAV series with permanent magnet motors delivers exactly the air the plant needs, every second, cutting energy cost by up to 35 %.
It depends on the tools and how many use air simultaneously. Rules of thumb: a workshop with 2–4 lifts usually needs 7.5–11 kW; larger workshops or tyre centres 15–22 kW; industry from 37 kW up. But the right answer requires reviewing actual demand — use our calculator or request a free analysis, and we size it correctly instead of guessing.
The price depends on model, configuration and what is included (tank, dryer, filters, installation). What we can say in general: the investment is typically 20–40 % lower than equivalent machines from the major European brands, with performance documented per ISO 1217. The difference is in the value chain, not the machine. We import directly from the factory with no middlemen, and DENAIR builds with the same component suppliers as the premium brands — SKF bearings, Schneider electrics, GHH screw elements. You pay for the machine, not for brand markup and costly intermediaries.
It varies with model and configuration — standard models may be in stock, special configurations are ordered from the factory. The specific lead time is always confirmed in the quote.
An 11 kW compressor typically requires 400V three-phase (TN system) with the correct circuit protection, and the machine needs free air circulation around the cabinet. If your building has a 230V IT system — common in older Norwegian commercial buildings — we solve it with the right motor variant or a transformer. At commissioning our technicians handle connection to pipework, setup and training. Exact requirements (fusing, circuit sizing, ventilation) are in the datasheet and reviewed before delivery.
In practice: yes, you need both. The tank smooths demand peaks and relieves the compressor; the dryer removes condensate that would otherwise rust pipework and destroy tools. That is why we deliver complete packages — compressor, tank, dryer and filters sized together.
Class 0 (ISO 8573-1) means there is no oil in the compression chamber at all — not just that oil is filtered out afterwards. For food, pharma and electronics this is effectively a requirement: one filter failure on an oil-lubricated machine can contaminate the entire production.
Yes. All service, commissioning and parts are handled by our own technicians in Norway, with a 24/7 on-call phone line — including weekends and holidays. Call +47 401 50 004.
Call +47 401 50 004 — the on-call line answers around the clock, maps the fault methodically and dispatches a technician immediately on breakdowns. Production stops take priority over everything else.
Yes, it is one of our most common jobs. We analyse the current installation (make, power, operating hours), calculate what a modern PM VSD system would save, and handle the replacement with minimal downtime. Start with the free analysis on the website.
The conformity documentation for each individual model is provided in the quotation, before ordering. It covers the EU Declaration of Conformity listing the directives applied, and for pressure vessels the category and module under the PED (Directive 2014/68/EU). Performance data is documented in accordance with ISO 1217. We do not supply equipment without the documentation in place.
Compressors should generally be installed frost-free, but we configure for Nordic conditions — low-temperature setups and correct placement are assessed at sizing. Tell us if the machine will stand in an uninsulated room, and we account for it in the quote.
We offer a 3-year warranty on DENAIR compressors. Full warranty terms are stated in writing in every quote, specified per component. All warranty service is performed in Norway with genuine parts.
Get in touch and we will look at financing options suited to your business — leasing is often attractive for compressor installations since the energy savings typically cover the leasing cost.
Yes — we are the official DENAIR distributor for Norway, Sweden, Denmark and the Baltics. Websites for the other markets are on the way; in the meantime we handle enquiries from across the Nordics at post@denair.no.
